What's Your Tweet Worth?

What's your tweet worth?  Well, it could be worth $100, and possibly even more if you're one of the lucky winners of ourTweet! Twitter contest.

Here's the scoop:

Starting today -- July 1, 2009 -- we're launching the first official Inman News Twitter contest.  The rules are simple.  Just tweet a message that includes a link to this page: http://www.inman.com/events/real-estate-connect-san-francisco-2009 and use the #icsf hashtag so we can track the tweets.  Pretty easy huh?

What's in it for you?

Amazing discounts and prizes galore! The prizes below are listed next to the corresponding winning tweet #.

10th = $100 off registration to Connect SF

25th = $250 off registration to Connect SF

50th = $500 off registration to Connect SF

100th = Free registration to Connect SF

150th = Two Free Registrations to Connect SF

250th = Two Free registrations and a free dinner at the Palace Hotel (up to $75 value)

500th = Two Free registration for SF and NY plus 1 year Inman News premium subscription

1000th = Five free registrations to Connect SF and lunch with Brad Inman

So, if I'm the 10th person to tweet (following the above rules), I would win $100 off registration to the conference.  Score!

As you can see, the prizes just keep getting better the more people tweet and re-tweet.  Will you be one of the lucky ones?

We'll be announcing the winners on Twitter as they happen so keep an eye out by following us at @inmannews.

We also have a secret prize to give away that we will be announcing later.  I can't tell you what it is, but trust me, it'll make the winner very happy!

Now the fine print:  Free registrations can be transferred to a future event if you've already purchased a pass.  Inman News reserves the right to change contest rules without notice.  If you're still reading this, you're worried too much about the rules.  Get out there and tweet!

You must login or register to post a comment.

Here I go changing the rules already...

Simple addition: Winners can only win once.

Things are off to a good start, and we've already had our first two winners.

Congrats to @mortgageaccess1 for hitting #10 and @pkitano for hitting #25.

We're already very close to tweet #50. Who's it gonna be?

Update: @DaleChumbley nails the #50 tweet and gets $500 off a Connect pass!

Congratulations to @Tisza, tweet #100 - Free pass to Connect SF (and boy she earned it!)

I am sooo thrilled and let me tell you it is really hard to type while doing the happy dance in the livingroom. Now, if my cat or my hubby ever wondered if I was insane I think they have confirmation :-)

Thank you Inman I am looking forward to seeing everyone there next month. Have a great day!

Tisza always wins - she has amazing "winner karma". I have seen it in action twice myself so am not surprised that she won a pass to Connect!

I'm happy that she won - will tweet a couple myself but have to leave the computer shortly....

@phxreguy hits #150

@ines hits #250

@comomma hits #500

Who's going to hit #1000? Where's this secret prize? Will I add some more lucky #'s just for fun?

Stay tuned...

wOOt!

I'm already registered, and even though I can transfer my two passes to a future event, I've decided I'm going to give them both away on my blog. SOON. It'll likely be a random drawing similar to a contest I did for a pass to Connect NYC.

Stay tuned!

New Rule:

If you create an account just for this contest, and do nothing but post random off topic tweets every 10 seconds, you can not win.

The whole point of this contest was to create a buzz and encourage people to engage with others.

Hi Jeff,

Mel is my hubby and he was trying to help me by helping some of my friends get to attend the conference.

We both saw comomma and others last night and didn't see any rule that said multiple postings wouldn't count or that the husband or other relative of a winner couldn't enter to win also so when he asked if I wanted him to help I said sure because I didn't see anything against it either.

He knows that I have been trying to help our friend Mary find a way to get a ticket to Inman, I know she wants to go, but neither she nor I would do anything unethical to get there.

As soon as I won a pass from you folks I took myself out of the running for the other contest that I was entered in. I have entered the contest that Jay is running because he said that it was ok to enter if you have already won a ticket if you want to give it to someone else which is what I said I was going to do in the comment I posted on his blog.

I am sorry that this has made so much extra work for you and if you don't want to count Mel I would understand and so would he.

This was just misplaced hubby enthusiasm run rampant and an error of judgment for condoning it on mine.

For all the extra work, I think I owe you a drink at the very least and perhaps lunch or dinner at the conference as well. I can also offer killer baked goods :-)

Did someone say "killer baked goods"? Mmmmm....

For those that miss out on Inman's wonderful opportunity here, you can go to my blog (linked below) for a chance to win the passes that I won on Twitter!

Why yes Jay... Yes I did! Have you ever seen show "Ace of Cakes"? For fun I do stuff like that (minus the pyrotechnics). I did an open laptop cake for ActiveRain's first b-day party a couple of years back.

I've been toying with the idea of bringing a cake to Inman... the challenge would be how to get it there, 400+ mile drive and all... and then where to finish the decor once it arrived and where to store it between arrival and the 1st nights reception.

But I have been thinking about it...

Submitted by Jeff Bernheisel on July 6, 2009 - 12:32pm.

Thanks Tisza. Just trying to keep things fun for everyone...

Speaking of fun, let's add another prize in the mix. That's fun, right?

Tweet #750 will win an Inman News thumb drive packed with audio content from our Connect NYC event this last January.

Keep those tweets coming!

Submitted by Tisza Major-Posner on July 6, 2009 - 4:38pm.

You're welcome :-) Soo... What do you think? Should I try to do a cake for the gathering and if so, how many should it feed?

I am sincerely crazy enough to be up for the challenge... just ask Mary Pope Handy about my cakes...

T.

@rerockstar lands on lucky #1000!

Looks like you've got yourself a couple extra tickets. Use them wisely!

So with that, our contest comes to an end.

A big thanks to everyone who participated, and mostly to their followers for taking the abuse!
